News Update!

And here is the first news update to prove that I know what I’m doing.

The two latest AIO podcasts tell us about the creative team behind The Key Suspect, and an interview with Atticus Shaffer, voice of new character Morrey Rydell.

A Very Bassett Wedding, Part 2 is airing this weekend, December 3rd.

Going into 2017 and season 4 of the Odyssey Adventure Club, the name of the Odyssey Adventure Club will be rebranded to the “Adventures in Odyssey Club”. This will fit with more consistency and will fit with names like Adventures in Odyssey Clubhouse Magazine. Episodes prior to Season four in the OAClub (or is that the AOClub?) will not be rebranded.

Tomorrow, December 1st, OAClub members will be able to hear the latest exclusive episode, Un-Tech the Halls, which has a summary as follows:  “The Parker Family embarks on a tech-free outing”.

Club Members will also have exclusive access to Album 62: Let’s Put On A Show! starting on December 6th with Connie the Counselor, adding a new episode every Tuesday through January  10th, ending with Legacy, Part 2.

What we know about Album 62: There will be six episodes, entitled and in the order of the following: “Connie the Counselor”, “No Friend Like an Old Friend”, “Fathers and Sons”, “The Grass is Always Greener”, “Legacy, PT. 1”, and “Legacy, PT. 2”.

Connie the Counselor is written by Kathy Buchanan, and this is what we know about it:
Christopher Diehl is engineering and possibly sound designing this episode.
Connie is counseling Eugene for five sessions as an assignment for her therapy class. We also know that Buck Oliver and Jules Kendall will make an appearance at some point in the episode, presumably Buck’s appearance having to do with “Buck Oliver pretends to understand Eugene and Katrina’s faith”, a piece of the summary on the back of the album.

No Friend Like an Old Friend is written by Phil Lollar, and this is what we know about it:
Connie will appear in the episode, and the episode begins at a Chicago bus station. Presumably, this episode will be related to the piece of the summary on the back of the album which says:  “A mysterious visitor to the antique shop isn’t all he seems as he searches for a clue to a father’s final words”.

Fathers and Sons is written by Phil Lollar, and this is what we know about it:
Christopher Diehl is engineering and possibly sound designing this episode.
Jason, Whit, and Wilson Knox will go on a camping trip. Wilson Knox is a character who will be appearing in There and Back Again, Parts 1, 2, and 3 in Season Four of the Adventures in Odyssey Club.
The episode begins at Whit’s house as Whit is packing sandwiches.

The Grass is Always Greener is written by Kathy Buchanan, and here is what we know about it:
The Parker kids will be switching bedrooms, presumably because they think the ‘grass is always greener’. So far the character list includes Matthew, Olivia, Camilla, Eva, and Lucia Ortaga.

Legacy, Parts 1 and 2 are written by Phil Lollar, and this is what we know about them:

The cover is based off the two-parter episode, we know that Jules Kendall is the person in the yellow dress, along with Eugene, Whit, and Connie, and another mysterious man.
Buck Oliver will be singing at some point in this episode. Will Ryan and the Saguaro Sisters will also be singing, one of the songs will be called “The Apple of My Eye”, and can be previewed here: Shona Kennedy’s Instagram.
The cast for this episode currently includes Eugene, Whit, Jules, Connie, Buck, Leena and Teena (Who will presumably be voiced by Karona and Katriona Kennedy), someone named Becky voiced by Lynne Marta, and an unknown person voiced by Pat Fraley, who also played Dr. Joseph Warren and Saint Valentine on previous episodes.
Part 1 was originally titled Exit Stage Left, and Part 2 was originally titled Enter Stage Right.
At some point, likely in the beginning of part 1, Eugene receives a special delivery letter and is surprised by its contents.
This episode is linked to the last part of the official album summary: “And a group of traveling singers put on the rootin-est, tootin-est, Wild Westiest musical extravaganza Odyssey has ever seen!”

In other news, Will Ryan and the Saguaro Sisters just finished their first Indiegogo campaign, raising 2,513 dollars to fund their new CD, “Ridin’ the Hollywood Trail”. I’m not allowed to open my copy until Christmas but I’ll be sure to tell you about it!

Another news bit is that I’ve dug up an interview with Will Ryan from 2005 about the original Eugene Sings! Album. Unfortunately, it appears that the file (.rm) is corrupted. If I figure out how to get it to work, I’ll be sure to put it here!

Our last news item has to do with the Imagination Station book 18, Trouble on the Orphan Train. Outside of the OAClub, you were not able to view the first draft. Now you can! It can be found right here: Flipsnack!!

If for some reason these links don’t work, comment and I will be sure to get you the raw link. Until next time, folks!
